There can be no experts

Social media is great for talking about, well – social media. But as I'm sick of all the self-proclaimed social media experts, tweets and slideshare presentations with social media strategies, I don't think you can discount it as a passing trend. Social media IS important. But it's also an evolving concept, and trying to "fix" the knowledge of the phenomenon as definite truths is pointless. I believe discussions on social media should be seen as a flows rather than stock knowledge.

    Hey Josh, thanks for the article link. It’s an important issue you’re raising, and which haven’t been discussed much. I agree with you that blogs and literature have been too focused on method rather than creative processes. Maybe it’s because ‘creativity’ is a very hard concept to pin down and because there are no quick fixes to mastering it?

    Couldn’t agree more, but I don’t think we need to worry too much. The true social media experts are the youth of today so as long as we improve creative education these tools will simply become the mediums they use for the expression of that creativity.
