Upset of the day

For the first time in very long I have been passionately upset at work over a discussion. Topic: which beers to buy for the office.

For me it's totally acceptable to not have an opinion about beer. What's astonishing is when people actually have strong preferences between different lager brands like Heineken, Amstel or Staropramen. Some planners out there know that blind tests show that its all the same stuff anyway, but advertising has been working people for so long that they have to buy two different kinds of blond lagers.

Recommendation: watch Heineken ads, drink something better:

09.42: Keynote blitz to finish a creative briefing presentation for this afternoon.

10.03: Folding a home-made recycling box in an effort to tidy up desk:

11.36: An internal production meeting that should have started at 11.00. Squabble over production companies.

12.01: Monday lunch with whole agency. Greek lunch. Squabble over who has taken who’s gyros.

12.45: Keynote blitz continues.

13.17: Powermeeting with account director and creative director.

13.30: Fixing some administrative APG stuff. Forwarding funny emails. Reading blogs.

14.44: Getting an email from client that requires rethinking of the whole campaign.

16.02: Noticing that the desk is exactly as cluttered as before, despite the recycling efforts:

16.15: Briefing the creative team:

Mikael, Johan, Petter and Jan.

18.07: Realising that another meeting started at 17:00.

18.15: Writing this blog post and going home.

Two new creatives that just joined us, Petter and Mikael, have gotten two spanking new Macs. As much as I'm happy for them the bad thing about new Apple stuff is that they make your old one look like something from the dark ages.
